Violent disturbance in Liberty County sends three men to local hospitals

Deputies from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 1800 block of County Road 2500 in the Knights Forest Subdivision near Moss Hill to address a disturbance around 10 p.m. Thursday, April 18.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a verbal dispute among four males had escalated into a physical altercation.

During the confrontation, a knife reportedly was drawn, resulting in multiple injuries. Two of the individuals involved were specifically targeted due to an ongoing feud.

One of the males sustained non-life threatening injuries and was rushed to Kingwood Hospital, while another was in a critical condition and had to be airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. The third male was initially taken to Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center and later was airlifted to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston in serious condition.

The fourth male sustained injuries but declined medical attention.

The gravity of the incident prompted the patrol supervisor to notify the Criminal Investigation Division and investigators responded to the scene.

“This could have all been prevented if the two males would have just called the Sheriff’s Office instead of taking matters into their own hands,” said Capt. David Meyers, who was among those responding to the scene Thursday evening.

As the investigation remains active, the identities of those involved are being withheld.

  1. Maybe the law should do more to stop all of the meth heads and drug addicts that have infested that area and made it unsafe for decent people to live there. Be proactive not reactive.

      • An active patrol route through that area a couple times a day would do wonders. Maybe they could keep an eye on know known drug users and sellers. Keep track of who comes and goes and make a list of suspected individuals and then do some actual police work and get these people off the streets.

  2. Maybe ignorant ass people should stay off other people’s land and not threaten and if they do me man enough to fight one on one. So I suggest if you don’t know what you’re talking about don’t speak. People were hurt regardless of what anyone thinks or says. My family was involved and the people who came to our land with that bull shit are the tweaking dope heads or just plum dumb. You choose. So don’t speak on what you don’t know.

    • I know a good deal about what happened. As a matter of fact I helped search for the wounded tweaker who pulled the knife and started stabbing people. I was also next to the ambulance when they loaded him into the back moaning and crying like a bitch the whole time. So I really don’t think you have any room to talk about fighting fair. As for my last point since I didn’t actually name anyone by name your response and defense of such drug fueled violence speaks to exactly what kind of person you are, you’re a dope head too.

  3. Got my popcorn ready. From what I hear from the neighbors out there, the tweaker got what he deserved.

  4. You’re right. The tweaking drunk that came on our land for what he deserved. No matter what the law states that a man either on drugs or sober has the right to defend themselves to the death. So whom ever y’all are referring to needs to stop because I know every single individual that is involved and the person y’all are referring to as a tweaker isn’t looking at years in the penitentiary. So just stop making this worse than it is and just because people who were involved are biologically related to retired law enforcement doesn’t mean they’re getting a slap on the wrist. They will be prosecuted to the extent of the law.

    • It’s funny that you make it seem like this happened in your front yard when in fact it happened smack dab in the middle of the road. Spreading lies about what happened in an effort to sway the public opinion on to your side is not going to work. The names and the people involved tell the whole story, on one side you have two men who simply wanted to get your family to stop driving 75mph down the gravel road where our kids play in the yard, and on the other side you have two dope heads who were so high at the time they were probably seeing 4 people instead of two and pulled weapons. One of which was a knife. If you don’t like your neighbors then pack up your needles and lighters and move out.

  5. Now you just sound ignorant. I know what happened. Far from stupid I’m actually very educated. I spoke to the police and it started on my family’s property and those ignorant ass rednecks drug my brother across the road into the ditch where he was found. There were four of them would you like for me to name them off? Cause trust me the district attorney has been contacted and this will not end well for none of them. So really tell the truth ok. I know you’re trying to protect your family but the difference is I’m not one to stand up for mine when they’re in the wrong. This time my family was in the right. Driving 75 down river road really? Dude talk to your people about how they drove down river road. Read up on the law and the reply with intelligence please and thank you. No I no longer live in that area I actually have a life. No drugs no alcohol in my blood so don’t act like you know me because of my brothers. They only get violent when they have to.

    • You better go down there and look at the crime scene because you are being lied to and made a fool of. If what you are saying is true they would have had to drag them 200 yards through the woods on to the back road by the pipeline. So before you make yourself look more stupid than you already do you had better learn the actual facts.
