LCSO: Family disturbance leads to stabbing

A family disturbance Wednesday night, April 24, resulted in one person being airlifted to a trauma center in Kingwood and charges being filed against the alleged aggressor.

According to Capt. David Meyers, spokesperson for the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, an estranged husband and wife got into a verbal argument at the woman’s home on CR 5727 around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

“During the disturbance, the man allegedly pulled a razor blade knife and cut the woman several times. She was airlifted to a hospital, treated and since has been released,” Meyers said.

Initially it was believed that the man had barricaded himself inside the woman’s home, so the LCSO Special Response Team was deployed to the scene. After they made entry into the home, they discovered the man had fled the scene prior to their arrival, according to Meyers.

A teenage male living at the residence, believed to be the couple’s son, was injured when he reportedly tried to intervene.

“He was trying to help and in the process got a superficial cut to his hand. He was treated and released,” Meyers said.

Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant for the male subject.
