The much-anticipated Taste of Dayton, an annual food-tasting event organized by the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, is drawing near.
This family-friendly gathering allows attendees to sample an array of culinary delights offered at booths sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Scheduled for Thursday, June 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., the event will be hosted at the Dayton Community Center, located at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton.
This year, the event will take on a Family Game Night theme, adding an extra layer of excitement. Each vendor booth is set to represent a classic board game, promising a fun and memorable experience for all attendees. Whether it’s the nostalgia of Candyland, the tedium of Monopoly, the intellect of Chess, or the simplicity of Hi Ho Cherry-O, there’s something for everyone.
Kelli Savage, vice president of development for the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, extended an invitation for vendors to participate, mentioning that there are still spaces available. Vendor booths range in price from $150 to $250 depending on the vendor’s Chamber membership level and location within the community center.
“Taste of Dayton is a good marketing opportunity for local businesses. For the community, it’s a chance to meet people from local businesses and learn more about them. Vendors will have a variety of food items available. Each vendor will also have a door prize (minimum $50 value) for drawings,” said Savage.
The entry fees, paid at the door on the day of the event, are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Door prize tickets can also be purchased during the event at a cost of $1 per ticket, $10 for 20 tickets, or $20 for 40 tickets.
“They can put one ticket in a drawing or all 40 in a single drawing if they want to improve their chances of winning that one item,” said Savage.
