Samuel Jack Porter, Jr.

Samuel Jack Porter, Jr., was born February 6, 1938, in Port Acres, Texas, to parents, Samuel Jack Porter, Sr and Ruth Marguerite Randall Porter. Sam entered his Heavenly Home on May 24, 2024, in Cleveland, Texas, at the age of 86. He was an iron worker by trade, and served our country proudly in the U.S.M.C. Sam loved his family greatly, he loved all the walks with his grandchildren and could often be found riding his bicycle through town. He never had an enemy and was always a friend to all. Sam was a member of Eastgate Church in Dayton. He loved the Lord and the Bible. Most of all Sam loved his wife dearly, as well as their kids and grandkids. You would never find Sam idle, he always enjoyed staying busy. Sam will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him. 

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Jack Porter Sr and Ruth Porter; brothers, Ernest Porter and Jimmie Porter; sisters, Linda Lee Dartez and Ruth Camille. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Martha Porter; children, Larry Ray Porter, Debra Porter McHenry and husband Phillip, Donald Eugene Barker Jr and wife Kathryn, Daniel Lee Barker, Joey Leonard Barker, Stephen Wesley Barker, Kimberly Ann Porter Brooks and husband John, Mary Ruth Porter Cruz, and Stacy Jack Porter and wife Elizabeth. 

Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 6-8 pm. Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Eastgate Church in Dayton, Texas, at 10:30 am, with Pastor Rick Doran officiating. Burial will be at the Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas, at 1 pm. Pallbearers for the service will be, Daniel Lee Barker, Donald Eugene Barker Jr, John Brooks, Stacy Porter, Josh McCown, and James Isaacks.
