Ernestine Leona Wright, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Born on October 20, 1932, in Dayton, Texas, to the late Ernest Carl and Lounna Labuff Noack, Ernestine lived a life marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering sense of right.
Ernestine was a woman of many passions, but she found joy in working in her yard, tending to her garden with care and dedication. Known for her bullheadedness, she also possessed a heart full of love and was cherished for her steadfast belief in always being right.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ernest Carl and Leona Labuff Noack; her devoted husband, Paul O. Wright; her brothers, Gerhard S. Noack “Dough Boy,” Wayne Noack, and Willie Paul Noack; and her sons, Stephen Lynn Croft and Donald Wayne Croft.
Ernestine’s legacy lives on through her surviving family members. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Randy Croft of Dayton, Texas; her brother, Curtis Noack and his wife Ruth of Dayton, Texas; her sisters, Pam Camfield of New Waverly, Texas, and Lillie Funderburg of Colorado City, Texas; and her eleven adoring grandchildren.
A graveside service to honor Ernestine’s life will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington, Texas with Pastor V. Frank officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched many hearts.
Ernestine Leona Wright will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
