Orbit, the Houston Astros’ beloved mascot, blasted the library to a fantastic pre-summer start with over 300 in attendance on Thursday, June 13.
The Liberty Municipal Library’s summer program will begin, Monday, June 17. The next event will be on Thursday, June 20, at 2:30 p.m. on the library’s back lawn. Everyone is invited for a free snow cone and to visit with the city’s wonderful members of the fire and police departments.
The first teen program will be on Friday, June 21, at 2 p.m.
Registration and library cards are free to Texas residents. Sign up online, use the QR code, or come into the library to sign up for six weeks of reading fun and excitement.
This year the library has a bonus event, Dinosaur George Museum, scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 from 8 a.m. through 7 p.m. located at the Liberty Center in City Hall. The children’s program is for ages 0-12 and the teen program is for ages 13-18.
“We look forward to seeing you this summer as we travel the world as ‘Adventure Begins at Your Library,'” said Library Director Amber Ursprung.
The Liberty Municipal Library is located at 1710 Sam Houston Street in Liberty, inside the Geraldine D. Humphreys Cultural Center. Library hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
