Lillie Bell Stuckey was born July 21, 1942, in Cleveland, Texas to parents, Milam Ery Lewis and Syble Louella Jeffcoat Lewis. She passed away June 19, 2024, in Kingwood, Texas at the age of 81. Lillie was a life long, and much beloved resident of Tarkington Prairie.
She worked for Tarkington ISD as a school custodian for many years before her retirement. She was also employed with Pace-Stancil Funeral Home for a period of time where she enjoyed meeting the people of the community. Most of all, Lillie loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Milam and Syble Lewis; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Childress; grandson, Jon Wayne Childress. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Mitch Stuckey; daughter, Tammy Hayden and husband Blake; brother, Edwin “Bootsie” Lewis and wife Arlyne; grandchildren, Justin Childress, Kevin Lindley, and Mark Lindley; great-grandchildren, Jon Childress, KayLynn Childress, Katie Childress, Lacee Lindley, Waylon Lindley, Blanton Lindley, Brycelyn Lindley, and Raelynn Lindley.
Visitation will be in the Pace-Stancil Chapel on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 10-11am. Funeral Service will begin at 11am with Bro. Carl Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Shade Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be, Kevin Lindley, Justin Childress, Bubba Cotie, Jon Childress, Brad Stuckey, Garland “Snoopy” Tebo. Honorary pallbearer will be Lorre Stubblefield.
