Dayton Chamber to welcome new teachers at annual luncheon

The Dayton Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its Annual New Teachers Luncheon, set to take place on Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. This event will be held at the Dayton Community Center, located at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton.

The luncheon aims to welcome the new teachers of Dayton ISD, showcasing appreciation and support for their vocation. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Dayton ISD Superintendent Dr. Jessica Johnson, who will be the guest speaker. In addition, the Chamber will award two academic scholarships to deserving Dayton ISD students.

Local businesses, organizations, and community members are encouraged to participate through various sponsorship opportunities.

The event’s Title Sponsor will be Patients Emergency Room, and one of the Colts Sponsors will be Liberty County Teachers Federal Credit Union. Additional sponsorship levels include: Broncos Level – $2,000, Ponies Level – $1,500, Colts Level – $1,000, Table Decoration Sponsor – $40 plus providing a table decoration, and Spotlight Table – $100 (only two spots remaining on the side of the ballroom).

For those who wish to directly support the teachers, there is also an option to sponsor a teacher’s meal at the luncheon for $20. Table decoration sponsors are asked to provide a table centerpiece that can also be part of the door prizes at the end of the event. Only teachers will be eligible to win these door prizes. Other door prizes are also welcome and will be drawn for at the end of the luncheon.

Due to the high volume of attendees at this luncheon, it is important to register in advance by Friday, July 26, at 12 noon. Registration can be completed online by clicking here or by calling 936-257-2393.

The Chamber will provide swag bags for the 125 new teachers in attendance, filled with school supply items that the teachers may need. Those interested in placing promotional items for their business in the bags should contact Sean Stockard or Kelli Savage at the Chamber. Smaller items such as business cards, pens, bracelets, trinkets, etc., are ideal. These items need to be brought to the Chamber offices by noon on July 24 to be included in the bags.
