Jason Robert Tucker Jr., 28, a man with ties to Dayton, Texas, is a facing charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon following an alleged drive-by shooting incident that took place on July 24 on the 600 block of Marblehead St., Dayton.
Although no injuries were reported, the bullets struck a residence, causing significant concern within the community.
Dayton police officers were dispatched to the scene after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered multiple bullet holes in the house.
“Our officers found several bullets that struck the residence,” stated Dayton Police Chief Derek Woods. The quick response by Dayton PD ensured the situation was swiftly contained, and an investigation was immediately launched.
The suspect was identified by the police thanks to a crucial piece of information provided by a witness, who was able to give a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle, which played a key role in police identifying the alleged shooter.
Chief Woods has refrained from disclosing the motive behind the shooting.
“We are not ready to disclose that information as it is still part of an active investigation,” Woods mentioned.
Tucker is being held in the Liberty County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
