New Life United Pentecostal Church took a significant step forward in its mission to serve the Liberty community by breaking ground on a new sanctuary on Sunday, Aug. 10.

The ceremony, held at the site of both the future and current church at 2510 Jefferson Drive, marks the beginning of a new chapter for the congregation, which has seen remarkable growth over the past decade.

The new sanctuary is designed to accommodate nearly 300 people, reflecting the church’s expanding membership. With a spacious layout of approximately 6,000 square feet, the sanctuary will provide ample room for worship services, events and activities.

Church members and celebrants were on hand for the ceremonial groundbreaking for New Life United Pentecostal Church’s new sanctuary in Liberty on Sunday, Aug. 10.

In addition to the main worship area, the new building will feature several Sunday School rooms to support the church’s educational programs and a built-in baptistry.

The church’s current congregation meets in their existing sanctuary, a building that previously housed the First Presbyterian Church.

New Life United Pentecostal Church acquired the historic structure 10 years ago, starting with just a small group of dedicated congregants. Under the leadership of Pastor Aaron DeLaughter and his wife, Rachel DeLaughter, the church has grown steadily, now outgrowing its current facility.
