Aledith DeGaugh

Aledith DeGaugh, born on Aug. 26, 1939, in Batson, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sept. 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Devoted member of the Batson Prairie Church, she had a strong sense of community and faith that resonated within her.

Aledith was known for her warm and caring personality, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, Justin Koenning, Jacob Koenning, Jennifer Hardin, and Ashlee Mayo. They brought her immense happiness and were truly her favorite. She dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her loved ones, embodying a spirit of generosity and affection that touched many lives.

She was an avid golfer and tennis player, always drawn to the outdoors. When not enjoying the sun and fresh air, she found pleasure in sewing, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and passion. Family gatherings were particularly special to Aledith; she loved both hosting and attending these memorable occasions that brought everyone together.

 Aledith is survived by her sons, Trey Hardin and wife Vicky of Livingston, Texas, and Richie DeGaugh of Murrieta, California; her daughter, Angie Mayo and husband A.L. of Magnolia, Texas; her brother, Bob Guedry and wife Lesa of Batson, Texas; her son-in-law Kenneth Koenning of Winchester, Texas; her longtime friend and companion, Bates Hobbs of Batson, Texas; and countless extended family and friends who were blessed to know her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Otis Guedry and Bertie B Jordan Guedry; her daughter, Christi Koenning; her brother, Jay Guedry; and her sisters, Iora Lou Dillon, and Elaine Guedry.

 A visitation will be held on Oct. 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tolbert Hudspeth officiating at the same location, with burial to follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson, Texas.

 Honoring Aledith’s life as her pallbearers are Bubba Guedry, Justin Koenning, Jacob Koenning, Ashlee Mayo, A.L. Mayo, and Aaron Ward.

 Aledith’s compassionate spirit and loving heart will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who loved her.

  1. As we were Kids Aledith, Iora and Elaine was our play mates. Anna, Jerry and Dorothy. We did many thing together. We were like one big family. Mater of fact I figured it out one day day! That since my Daddy, Evertt Gue’dry and their were brothers, that we were sisters!

    So, my sister Aledith, I love you and will miss you! But it is with joy knowing I will seeing you again forever and forever. Jesus Made it possible !
