Evelyn Faye Turner was born May 29, 1941, in Galveston, Texas to parents Lavanchie Coffield and Sim “Redman” Turner. She passed away on Sept. 29, 2024, in Cleveland, Texas, at 83 years old.
Faye lived a simple life and enjoyed special moments with her beloved sisters especially when they would sing silent night at her bedside. Evelyn was so very loved by her family, and she will be greatly missed.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents Sim “Redman” and Lavanchie Turner; sister, Eleanor Louise Turner; and niece Tina Goldsmith Casey. She is survived by her sisters JoAnn Faulk and Geraldine Goldsmith and husband Leon; nephew Dan Everitt; nieces Kathy Everitt and Lisa Goldsmith Butcher and husband Brian; great nieces and nephews Jayden Butcher, Ashlee Casey, Faith Mikeska, Danson Buzek, Madison Buzek, Wisdom Matthews and Sailor Mikeska.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m., at Bear Creek Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas, with Bro. Larry Glosup officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Kathy Everitt, Lisa Butcher, Dan Everitt, Jayden Butcher, Brian Butcher and Donnie Zaro.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kathy Miller who was Evelyn’s caretaker in the hospital and to the Calvary Baptist Church Nursing Home Ministry – Cindy Gillinger, Sheryl Youngblood, Gloria Lilly, Steven Rayburn and Kathy Miller.
