Man charged with multiple counts of child porn possession after disturbance in Colony Ridge community

Cerrato-Ruiz, Walter

An investigation into a disturbance at a home in the Colony Ridge communities south of Plum Grove has resulted in charges against one individual.

Walter Cerrato-Ruiz, 20, of Houston, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 10, on four counts of Possession of Child Pornography after investigators found hundreds of illicit images on his confiscated phone.

The investigation began on Aug. 18, 2024, when Liberty County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on CR 3545 for a loud disturbance.

When they arrived, shots reportedly were fired nearby, leading deputies to believe they were being targeted. Numerous individuals were interviewed at the scene, and several witness statements were collected.

According to Capt. David Meyers, a spokesperson for the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, multiple cell phones—six to eight in total—were confiscated, and every person present at the home gave written consent for the phones to be searched. A bilingual investigator was also present to assist with interviews for those who did not speak English.

Initially, deputies believed that reviewing the cell phones would clarify whether the shots were directed at them. However, during the search, investigators reportedly discovered the disturbing child pornography images on Cerrato-Ruiz’s phone.

Cerrato-Ruiz was arrested when he came to the sheriff’s office to retrieve his phone, which had been held as part of the investigation. Cerrato-Ruiz is booked in at the Liberty County Jail. Bond information is not yet available.

  1. Wait? You mean to tell me there was a disturbance in Colony Ridge, shots were fired, police possibly targeted, and a tortilla beater with child porn all in one go?

That can’t be- ole Harris was in several interviews not long ago and said the only reason local residents are against his nesting hispanics and illegals is because they are racist, and the crime out there isn’t any worse that anywhere else.

Don’t know about that- I look through the arrest records from Montgomery County, and there are a very high number of arrests from residents of Colony Ridge.

If one random disturbance leads to shots fired and child porn, just think to yourselves how much more crime, drugs, child molestation occurs out there that stays under the radar. These are the types of people that are being thrown into your community and integrated with your kids, and the county is letting it happen.

    • Exactly Ryan! And on whose watch did Colony Ridge expand exponentially and get an MMD to tax their own customers with? Why, Jay Knights watch of course! I guess it’s true though, we do get the kind of government we vote for and Liberty County voters voted for Jay Knight so… it’s not like the voters didn’t know what’s been going on over here in Plum Grove. Just wait till it reaches YOUR neighborhood people, you are gonna love having Colony Ridge right up in your back yard too! smh! :-\ ps. City of Plum Grove fought this tooth-n-nail and was repeatedly sued and bullied by Colony Ridge so don’t nobody dare say Plum Grove approved or wanted this! (city was required not to oppose it or attempt to regulate it in any way in order to settle a 2015 lawsuit filed by Colony Ridge against City of Plum Grove because the city had, at the city engineer’s advice after review, refused to approve a construction permit as it had been submitted to the city by Colony Ridge… the entire story of how that went down is still on Facebook you can look it up how a city was bullied by a developer!)

      • Right on Micheal- your knowledge of the fruition of Colony Ridge is outstanding. I hope you have found a better place after all that happened to you.
I live behind Kings Colony- the original Colony Ridge craphole, and saw the writing on the wall. Same thing has happened to me that you went through, minus the flooding.
I have a very large collection of arrest statistics from Montgomery county outlining the percentage of arrests from Colony Ridge properties vs. the rest of the county, and it is highly disproportionate in favor of Colony Ridge. And that doesn’t take into account the properties sold by CR that aren’t in the development proper, or the fact that this high percentage of arrests isn’t even in the county of the main development.
The percentage of arrests for child indecency is staggering compared to the rest of the county.
I need to find time to compile it into a presentable report to send to ALIPAC.

Also, I have to give credit where credit is due to the editor of this news site for not cherrypicking comments, at least. I’ve been banned from nextdoor and kingwood.com already for posting nothing but the truth.
I will get in touch and send you my report when I get it compiled- I have your email, Micheal- we’ve chatted years ago.

    • And actually in the Glen Beck piece John Harris sat there and told Glen that there is no crime in his Colony Ridge neighborhoods… like, no crime at all! Nothing to see out in Colony Ridge, no murders no dead bodies no meth houses cooking the stuff up no gunfire or anything I guess…. what exactly does John Harris think “crime” is? You just can’t make this stuff up I swear!

      • Yeah, the only thing I didn’t like about the Glen Beck report was they didn’t go to the worst parts of the development. I consider Kings Colony part of that, too, and if anyone thinks it’s bad in Plum Grove- take a drive through Kings Colony in Montgomery County. It’s a total shithole, with crime that rivals the shittiest parts of Mexico.

    • And that goes right to the Texas Governor’s Mansion! Greg Abbott was “donated” some $1.5 million by Trey and Celeste Harris (of Colony Ridge) as well as given $50K cash and taken on an exotic deer hunting trip by Trey Harris (which he didn’t disclose in his filings with the Texas Ethics Commission as far as I could tell upon searching for those 2 gifts in their online database)… that’s according to Representative Ernest Bailes, and when asked by a reporter last February Greg didn’t deny it! Just saying. :-\
