Larry Ralph Thumann was born in Houston, Texas, on Nov. 16, 1943, to parents, Hugo Thumann and Ellie Lamkin Thumann. He passed away Oct. 15, 2024, in Kingwood, Texas, at the age of 80. Larry was a construction contractor in his younger years and sold heavy equipment for many years. He had a deep love and appreciation for all animals, especially his horses. Larry was a hard worker and in his spare time he enjoyed trail rides, team pinning, rodeos and deer hunting. He loved to cook for all his family and friends, especially during the holidays. Larry was a member of the Splendora Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Ellie Thumann; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Vickie Thumann; children, Rhonda Bennett, Becky Lynn Baker and husband Ray, Billy Thumann and wife Megan, and Dwayne Thumann and wife Bethany; grandchildren, Jackie Sechrist, Sabrina Bennett, Jordan Perry, Sammy Bennett, Jake Hallmark, Ty Thumann, Baylee Thumann, Bayze Thumann, Presley Thumann, and Ellie Thumann; great-grandchildren, Jared, Justice, Jaxton, Mason, Christopher, and Jasmine; numerous nieces and nephews. Cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, from 4-7pm. Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at 12:00pm, in the New Bielau Cemetery in Weimar, Texas with Rev. Glen Mead officiating.
