Months of preparation and care culminated in excitement at the Trinity Valley Exposition’s Youth Livestock Auction on Friday, Oct. 18, in Liberty, where young exhibitors from Liberty and Chambers counties proudly presented their prized animals and projects. The TVE Rodeo Arena was bustling with energy as a crowd of eager bidders came out to support local youth and their projects.
As TVE organizers are keeping open the add-on bidding for two more weeks, the final tally of the livestock auction is not available at this time. This will ensure that local youths get top dollar for their auction items.
The 25 grand and reserve champions alone tallied a whopping $216,249 (not including add-on bids) during the premium sale on Friday. The top bid went to Parker Whittington of Mid-Chambers County 4-H for his Grand Champion Market Steer, which sold for $21,000 to Furlow Ranch. The Reserve Champion Market Steer, raised by Avery Smart with Hardin 4-H, sold for $14,000 to Maci Feed.
