Karem Alondra Lopez, a radiant spirit born on Aug. 11, 2007, in Houston, Texas, departed this world on October 21, 2024, leaving behind fond memories and much love. Karem’s life, though short, was filled with vibrant energy and a passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
Growing up with a heart full of dreams, Karem developed a deep-rooted dedication to her faith and community. As an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she committed to serving as a teacher’s aide in Catechism, imparting her knowledge and love to younger generations. Her enthusiasm for learning and sharing was only matched by her love of dance, where she freely expressed herself, embodying joy and life in every movement.
Karem was not just a student; she was a leader among her peers and eagerly awaited her enlistment in the United States Army. A proud member of the graduating class of 2024 from Douglas Academy in Cleveland, Texas, she looked forward to embarking on new adventures and continuing to serve her country with distinction.
Karem is survived by her loving parents, Luis Enrique Lopez and Placida Araceli Muñoz, her brothers, Luis Fernando and Sebastian Lopez, as well as her sisters, Esther Muñoz and Camila Lopez. In their embrace, Karem’s spirit will always resonate, reminding them of laughter, love, and shared lessons.
The warmth of Karem’s love extends beyond her immediate family; she is survived by many other beloved relatives and a host of friends whose lives she touched in countless ways. While her passing leaves a deep void, her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Karem is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Maricela Lopez, her great-grandmother, Felicitas Lopez, and her maternal great-grandparents, Agustina Rojas and Alberto Hernandez. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 South Washington Avenue, Cleveland, TX 77327.
A mass to celebrate Karem’s life will take place the following day on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church – Kirbywood at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery. Karem Alondra Lopez will always remain in the hearts of her loved ones and those who loved her. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and unbreakable spirit will continue to shine brightly, lighting the way for future generations.
