First week of early voting in Liberty County draws 15,583

Early voting in Liberty County for the Nov. 5, 2024, general election is off to a strong start, with turnout numbers reflecting significant voter engagement, likely spurred by the presidential race. Here’s a breakdown of voter participation during the first week of early voting:

  • Oct. 21, 2024: 3,095 voters
  • Oct. 22, 2024: 2,863 voters
  • Oct. 23, 2024: 2,528 voters
  • Oct. 24, 2024: 2,236 voters
  • Oct. 25, 2024: 2,564 voters
  • Oct. 26, 2024: 1,643 voters
  • Oct. 27, 2024: 654 voters

The total number of voters during this first week stands at 15,583, which is 28.6 percent of all registered voters in Liberty County. With one more week of early voting remaining, these numbers are expected to rise even further.

Early voting will continue through Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays.

Liberty County operates voting centers, which allows any registered voter in the county to cast their ballot at any of the designated locations. For those in need of curbside voting, assistance is available by calling 936-253-8050 at the designated polling sites.
