Dayton High School culinary students recently researched foods commonly grown and enjoyed in Latin America in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. They prepared Mexican Wedding Cookies, Breakfast Tacos with flour tortillas, and Fruit Paletas, enjoying the opportunity to learn about and share Hispanic cultures.
The culinary program at Dayton High School teaches students valuable life skills they can use daily and possibly in future careers. Through projects like this, students gain insight into other cultures and traditions. Hands-on skills labs allow students to apply math, reading, science, and history, showing how these subjects impact families and communities.
