Strike up the fun: Splendora HS bowling team makes its debut

Splendora High School is thrilled to announce the official debut of the SHS Bowling Team! This brand-new club kicked off its inaugural season in October.

Every Tuesday afternoon, our dedicated bowlers lace up their shoes and head to Time to Spare Entertainment for practice. There, they perfect their form, fine-tune their spin, and aim for those all-important strikes. Wednesdays bring the heat with match days, starting at 3:45 p.m.

Most matches are held at Time to Spare Entertainment, but mark your calendars for two exciting away games: Dec. 4 at Bowlero in The Woodlands against Grand Oaks High School, and Dec. 18 at Conroe 300 Bowl against the Willis Wildkats.

The SHS Bowling Team boasts a roster of 15 boys and six girls. However, only the top eight players each week compete in varsity matches, motivating every athlete to continuously improve and secure their spot in the lineup.

In addition to Grand Oaks and Willis, the Wildcats will take on Lake Creek and Caney Creek, striving for both team victories and standout individual performances. Bowling is unique in its blend of team and individual accomplishments. This season, the top two boys’ teams and the top girls’ team from each district will qualify for regionals in March. Additionally, the top five individual boys and girls will have a chance to compete for regional spots. A strong showing at regionals could even lead to a trip to the state championships!

The SHS Bowling Team is on a roll—literally! SHS hopes you’ll support the players as they aim for strikes and spares throughout the season. See you at the lanes, and let’s go, SHS!

Bowling Tip of the Day: Did you know that a “turkey” in bowling is when you score three strikes in a row? Here’s hoping for lots of turkeys this season!
