Mildred Phillips Franklin, age 94, passed away on Nov. 23, 2024. Born on Dec. 21, 1929, in Georgia, to Ira and Perry Phillips, she lived a life marked by strong faith and independence.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Riley Franklin; her sons, Billy Darrell Franklin, and Marlin Ray Franklin; her grandson, Marlin Ray Franklin, Jr.; and her parents, Ira and Perry Phillips.
She leaves behind a large and loving family including her daughters, Peggy Franklin, and Wanda Chapman (Mike); her sons, Travis Franklin (Peggy), Ricky Franklin (Karen), and Ronnie Franklin (Gena); along with five generations of grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
Mildred was a very independent woman who loved the Lord. She found great joy in tending to her beautiful yard full of flowers and spent many happy hours gardening. Her strong faith and self-reliant spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
A visitation for Mildred will be held at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas, on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas, with Mike Chapman officiating.
