The Valley Players are set to bring holiday magic to the stage with their production of A Christmas Carol, running for three performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 6-8.
Adapted for the stage by Michael Marrone, this rendition of Charles Dickens’ timeless tale promises to captivate audiences with its heartfelt story and local talent.
Performances will take place at the Humphreys-Burson Theater inside the Humphreys Cultural Center, located at 1710 Sam Houston Street, Liberty. Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Please note, the Sunday show is sold out, but tickets remain available for the Friday and Saturday evening performances.
The play follows the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man who despises Christmas. Through visits from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, Scrooge confronts the consequences of his actions and learns the true meaning of compassion, generosity, and holiday spirit.
Taking on the iconic role of Scrooge is Nolen Myers, a former Liberty High School student and University of Texas graduate. Myers has delighted audiences in previous Valley Players productions, including The Hairy Situation of Dr. Follicle, High School Musical, and Young Frankenstein.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online at https://buy.ticketstothecity.com/purchase.php?event_id=14544. With limited availability and seats selling quickly, early purchase is highly recommended.
