James Danny Stutts was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Mobile, Alabama, to his parents, Jimmy and Elise Stutts. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Nov. 27, 2024. After serving in the United States Navy on the USS Wright, Danny began his career in the Natural Gas Industry.
He started as a Rig Welder, but his hard work and determination led him to start supervising these projects. He also started his own welding supply company for a couple of years, but his passion was being in the field with his crew. Many years as a Superintendent led him to his final occupation as an Inspector. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time on his boat with his family, cruising the Neches River as well as the Intracoastal Waterway.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Elise Stutts and his granddaughter, Hannah Marie Doucet.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Charlotte F. Stutts; children, Danny Ray Stutts and his wife, Brandi Stutts, and Sharon Fay Golightly and her husband, Greg Golightly; brother, Larry Stutts, and his wife, Linda Stutts; grandchildren, Taylor Stutts, Caitlyn Stutts, Makaila Stutts, and Michael Jones; and nephew and nieces Larry Wayne Stutts, Sherry Armstrong, Christine Pleasant.
The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, in the chapel at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home 303 East Crockett St. Cleveland, Texas, 77327, where funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024. The interment will follow at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
Following the interment, food will be provided at the office of B&D Excavating located at 24959 HWY 321 Cleveland, Texas 77327.
