Eva Ola (Stockbridge) Steele was born May 4, 1937 in Grapeland, Texas to parents, Olan Gregg and Loye Stockbridge. She passed away Dec. 12, 2024, in Cleveland, Texas, at the age of 87 years. Eva loved to sew and could grow the most beautiful plants.
She retired as the manager for Brookshire Brothers in Cleveland, Texas, after 17 years. She loved having a large family and was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Eva will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Olan and Loye Stockbridge; and husband, Oliver Dean Steele. She is survived by her beloved children, David Gregg Steele and wife Sandy, Lemuel Dean Steele Sr and wife Candy, Van Steele and wife Debbie, Karen Franklin and husband Ricky; grandchildren, Raymond Earl Vandver, Trista Johnston, Stacie Pierce, Lemuel Dean Steele Jr, Randy Eric Steele, Jonathan Collins, Brandon Collins, Brandan Steele, Kassidy Coleman, Cheyenne Steele, Shaylee Steele, Ricky Franklin Jr, Chase Franklin; great-grandchildren, Penelope Pierce, Madison Steele, Nathaniel Steele, Anndalyn Steele, Kaden Steele, Paxton Harris, Kennedy Steele, Hunter Vandver, Haley Vandver, Cole Vandver, Kinlee Ballard, Kase Ballard, Kelby Franklin, Cayden Franklin.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home In Cleveland. Eva’s funeral is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronald Bordes officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Pallbearers for the service will be, Raymond Vandver, Brandan Steele, Lemuel Steele Jr., Jonathan Collins, Randy Steele, Hunter Vandver. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cole Vandver.
