Betty Ruth Gates passed away Dec. 18, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born March 10, 1936, in Coleman, Texas, to parents, Richard and Mae Conner.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harmon Gates; daughter, Sandra Holt and husband James; grandchildren, Crystal Allen, and husband Chris, Sarah Young and husband Steven, Joseph Holt and fiancé Priscilla; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Anna, Makayla, Ashlyn, Britton, Zachary, and Carly; sisters, Patsy Bradley, and Shirley VanWinkle; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland. Betty’s funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, in the chapel at Pace-Stancil in Cleveland with Pastor George Hayden, and Pastor James Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Allen, Ethan Allen, Kethan Balderas, Chris Juneau, Steven Young and Zac Young.
