City of Liberty postpones this year’s Liberty Jubilee to revamp and improve

Families enjoy carnival rides that were set up around Liberty City Hall on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26, for the Liberty Jubilee.

The Liberty City Council regrets to announce the postponement of this year’s Liberty Jubilee, traditionally held each March. After careful consideration, it has determined that a comprehensive revamp is necessary to address recent financial challenges and to ensure the more sustainable and successful experience for the community in the future.

Over the past several years, the Liberty Jubilee has faced rising costs and a decline in volunteer participation, placing the full responsibility of event planning on city employees. These factors have significantly impacted the event’s financial sustainability and overall success.

To better serve the community, attract larger audiences, and encourage increased volunteer involvement, City Council has decided to dedicate additional time to redesigning and revamping the event.

“We deeply appreciate the community’s continued support and patience as we work to create an event that everyone can be proud of,” according to a press release from the City of Liberty.

New dates for the Liberty Jubilee will be announced once the revamped plan is finalized. The public is encouraged to stay informed by visiting the City of Liberty’s official website and Facebook page for updates.

Community members interested in getting involved or offering suggestions for the event are encouraged to contact City Hall at 936-336-3684.
