
Mary Elizabeth Robison Bailey, lovingly know as “Granny” or “G.G.,” passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on July 5, 1944, in San Diego, California, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Morris Robison. Mary grew up in the small town of Spring Valley, California. In her early childhood, Mary went to Jean’s Dance Studio to begin her love of dance, where she learned Tap Dance and performed in many recitals and shows. She was a graduate of Mount Miguel High School in 1962. She was a retired A T & T Overseas Operator with 20 years of service. In 1996, Mary moved to Texas where she resided for 29 years.
Hobbies she enjoyed were, going to the mountains of California and panning for Gold, fishing, watching horse racing, casino gambling, family poker nights, dancing, baking cookies with her grand-daughter and great-grandkids, making her “famous fudge”, and playing games with her great-grandkids, Rayne and Stormi.
She loved to travel, and spending time in Alaska with Toby, Dena and Jake. She enjoyed camping, fishing, jet skiing, and rafting. She also enjoyed seeing all the Alaskan Wildlife that would come around the cabin. Moose encounters, Deer, Eagles soaring in the ski and an occasional Bear. She often spoke about the Salmon runs in Alaska and she so enjoyed fishing for them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Elizabeth Robison, her brothers, William “Bill” and Leroy Robison, and former husband, William Dougherty.
Mary’s legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Carpenter and her husband Keith, of Hardin, Texas; her son Toby Dougherty and his wife, Dena, of Fairbanks, Alaska, her adoring grandchildren, Samantha Carpenter of Hardin, Texas and Jacob Dougherty of Fairbanks, Alaska; her precious great-granddaughters, Rayne and Stormi Nugent of Hardin, Texas and her beloved former husband, George Wolkoff of Burns, Wyoming.
She will be forever missed by her loving family, and many friends.
A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 3, 2025, at Allison’s Funeral Home.
