Splendora ISD picks Bromley as new superintendent

Dr. Dustin Bromley

After an extensive search and careful deliberation, the Splendora ISD Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Dustin Bromley as the Lone Finalist for the district’s superintendent position. Dr. Bromley, a respected educational leader with a track record of success in district administration, bond management, and strategic planning, is set to bring his expertise and vision to Splendora ISD.

Currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Administration & Support Services at La Porte ISD, Dr. Bromley has been instrumental in initiatives such as passing a $235 million bond, implementing district-wide professional learning programs, and improving teacher retention. His leadership background includes roles as a teacher, coach, principal, and district administrator, equipping him with the experience necessary to continue the district’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.

“On behalf of the Splendora ISD Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce Dr. Dustin Bromley as our Lone Finalist,” said Board President Allen Wells. “After an extensive search and a thorough review of candidates, we are confident that Dr. Bromley is the right leader to continue guiding our district toward excellence.”

Throughout the process, the SISD board made it a priority to listen to the voices of the community, staff and students, and that input played a vital role in shaping the board’s decision, Wells said, adding his deep appreciation for the thoughtful feedback shared during this transition.

“It was clear that our district needs a leader who values academic growth, student success, and community collaboration—someone who will build on the strong foundation we have established under the leadership of Dr. Burke,” said Wells.

Dr. Bromley began his career in education as a teacher and coach at Galena Park ISD before moving into administrative roles. As principal of Crosby Middle School, he successfully opened a new campus combining 6th through 8th graders, improving student achievement, reducing disciplinary issues, and increasing retention. His success at Crosby Middle led to his appointment as principal of Crosby High School, where he further improved student achievement, attendance, and graduation rates.

His leadership trajectory continued with his promotion to Executive Director of Operations for Crosby ISD, followed by his current role in La Porte ISD. Throughout his career, Dr. Bromley has earned recognition for his contributions to education, including being named Principal of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year.

As required by Texas law, a 21-day waiting period must be observed before Dr. Bromley can be officially hired as the district’s next superintendent. The Board of Trustees looks forward to completing this process and welcoming Dr. Bromley to the Splendora ISD community.
