On Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigator was traveling east on U.S. Highway 90 in the city of Liberty when he observed two motorcyclists also traveling east.
The riders appeared to be affiliated with a known criminal motorcycle gang, Brother’s East, also known as BEAST, based on the vests they wore displaying the gang’s insignia.
The investigator noticed that one of the riders had a .44 Magnum revolver secured in a leather holster on his chest in plain view. In Texas, it is illegal to possess a firearm while being a member of a criminal gang. A marked unit was requested, and a traffic stop was conducted.

According to the sheriff’s office, the riders were identified as Darrell Streng of Liberty County, a documented gang member of BEAST, and Matthew Charles Craft of Liberty County, a current prospect of the gang. Between them, they were found to be in possession of five fully loaded handguns.
Streng and Craft were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member.
They were transported to the Liberty County Jail. Bond for each was set at $3,000.

Both with priors, felony and weapons charges and bond is $3000. This should make the public safe. Thank you again LC for your fair assessments of low to no bond for such exemplary citizens.
