On Feb. 21, 2025, personnel from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Conroe Police Department, who are members of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force, assisted U.S. Marshals in the arrest of Crime Stoppers Top 10 fugitive, John Ray Alaniz.
Alaniz, 42, was taken into custody in Howard County, Texas, on warrants from Montgomery County for a probation violation related to felony assault – family violence. He is currently being held at the Howard County Jail.
Authorities extend their appreciation to the USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force in Howard County for their assistance in locating and apprehending Alaniz.
