Frances L. Strong Nance

Frances L. Strong Nance, 92, of Hull, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, in Liberty, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born on March 23, 1932, in Dayton, Texas, to the late William E. and Ena Whitfield Strong.

Frances graduated from Dayton High School and dedicated many years of her life working for Hull-Daisetta ISD, serving in the cafeteria from 1978 until her retirement in 2008. She had a passion for traveling, spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, and always lending a helping hand. Frances ensured that everyone around her was well-fed and cared for. She enjoyed playing dominoes and various games, always keeping up with those she loved, even into their adult years.

Frances was known for her honesty, love, and adventurous spirit, always ready to go somewhere new. She had a deep love for the Lord and lived her life as a good-hearted Christian. She was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church in Daisetta, Texas, where she participated in the UMW, the women’s organization at the church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles “Charlie” Strong; her sister, Mary Strong; and her beloved husband, Wallace Richmond Nance.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Malcolm Nance and Wendell Nance, Sr. and wife Thyra; her grandchildren, Wendell Nance, Jr., Nicole Nance, Kateland Marks, Dana Flowers, and Timothy Lott and wife Amanda; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Frank Chalfant, Joed Ratcliff, Thomas Watson, Eloy Rodriguez, John Barrier, and Eddie Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Connor Marks, Leeland Cook, Evin Bragg, Adam Bragg, Tyler Bragg, Austin Bragg, Rowdy Nance, and Jeremiah Sorensen.
