U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed the arrests of 118 individuals during a multi-agency enforcement operation conducted on Monday, Feb. 24, in the Colony Ridge development, located north of Houston.
The operation targeted individuals with serious criminal backgrounds, including charges and convictions such as criminal sexual conduct, homicide, theft, negligent manslaughter, child sexual abuse, crimes of moral turpitude, weapons offenses, and drug offenses.
One notable arrest was that of 39-year-old Florentin Chevez-Luna, a Salvadoran national who had been deported three times previously. He was apprehended under a criminal warrant alleging repeated sexual abuse of a minor between November 2008 and November 2016.

The operation was further intensified by a murder that took place during the sweep. Luis Miguel Perez, 34, a confirmed MS-13 gang member and El Salvador national who has been deported from the United States seven times, is now in custody following a seven-hour manhunt that began Monday afternoon in the Colony Ridge communities south of Plum Grove.
According to Capt. David Meyers of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when Perez and his father-in-law, Julian Salas Lopez, got into a verbal dispute that turned physical. During the fight, Perez allegedly pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed Lopez.
After the stabbing, Perez fled into a nearby wooded area, prompting a large-scale manhunt. Law enforcement agencies deployed drones and K-9 officers to track him, and a DPS helicopter was expected to assist from the air. Perez’s attempt to evade authorities ended shortly before 10 p.m. when he was apprehended at a property off CR 2340 in the Dayton Oaks Subdivision, just three miles north of the prisons in Dayton.

According to articles in El Amanecer Texas, an online Spanish newspaper and a sister paper of Bluebonnet News, the ICE operations have significantly impacted the local community, instilling fear among residents and leading to a noticeable decline in daily activities.
Businesses have reported a sharp drop in customers, with many residents choosing to stay indoors. The atmosphere has been likened to a “zombie movie,” reflecting the deep sense of fear and uncertainty within the community.
Governor Greg Abbott announced the operation via social media, stating that Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and special agents were assisting Homeland Security Investigations in targeting “criminals and illegal immigrants” in Colony Ridge.
Colony Ridge, a 33,000-acre development home to approximately 70,000 residents, has been under scrutiny for allegedly serving as a haven for undocumented immigrants and associated criminal activities. However, local authorities and the developers have disputed these claims, emphasizing that the community is primarily composed of hardworking individuals and families.

“the ICE operations have significantly impacted the local community, instilling fear among residents and leading to a noticeable decline in daily activities”
Well well well. MAYBE don’t be illegal and you won’t be worried. Round em all up.
No kidding. It almost sounds like a sympathy piece.
It says “However, local authorities and the developers have disputed these claims, emphasizing that the community is primarily composed of hardworking individuals and families.” and what follows in the news feed is arrest after arrest for drugs, murder, and other crimes.
Just which local officials feel like it’s all hard working family types? Pretty sure the local law enforcement I’ve seen interviewed agreed that the development had a disproportionately high level of crime.
The fact that “they are scared” tells you all you need to know about their immigration status.
No sympathy from me… keep shipping them out.
PERIOD!!!!
Why would legal taxpayers with proper documentation be scared?
I’m scared because of the color of my skin. Because I know if I get pulled over, it won’t just be about a traffic stop—it’ll be about how I look, how they perceive me, and how I react. This isn’t just about being illegal; this is racial profiling.
People keep saying, “If you’re legal, you have nothing to worry about.” But that’s not true. History proves it’s not true. How many American citizens have been detained, harassed, or even deported just because they “looked” undocumented? How many times do we have to hear the same stories before people believe it’s happening?
And let’s talk about the bigger picture. What’s happening right now isn’t just about undocumented people. It’s about all of us. Mass deportations hurt the economy—farmers are already struggling to find workers, construction costs will rise, and everyday people will feel it in food prices, services, and taxes. Speaking of taxes, who do you think is paying for all these ICE raids and deportation centers? We are.
And for what? To break up families? To make entire communities live in fear? This isn’t making America safer—it’s creating division, hurting businesses, and making it clear that if you’re brown, you’re a target. Whether you have papers or not.
So which one is it? You racist, or you jealous? ‘Cause that’s the bottom line. We are Native. This is our land. We didn’t cross no border—the border crossed us.
You wanna talk facts? Let’s talk facts:
We were here first. My ancestors lived on this land long before anybody came through claiming it. We had our own nations, our own ways, our own land. Then colonizers showed up, started drawing lines, and acting like they had the right to decide where we belong.
1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. That’s when the U.S. straight-up took half of Mexico’s land—but let’s be real, that land wasn’t even Mexico’s to give. It was Native land. Tribes like the Apache, Tohono O’odham, and Yaqui got split between two countries without ever having a say.
Even now, they still trying to control us. Look at the Tohono O’odham Nation—our people got family on both sides of the border, but we gotta deal with walls, checkpoints, and border patrol acting like we don’t belong on our own land.
So tell me, what’s the real issue? Why does the truth bother you?
In the end we as american will end up paying for it.
love, peace and chicken grease.

We are missing a very important factor in all this, and that is the incentive for people to come across the border. Please remember that most of us are benefiting from the existence of this cheap labor force. If we are serious about the challenge of illegal immigration, go after those who hire these people. Hit the Tyson’s and the corporations the benefit from this modern slave labor force. I don’t mind paying a higher price for our goods and labor if it means an American can make a decent wage. The question is, are you.
