She fell asleep in her home in Smithville, Texas, on Feb. 23, 2025, and woke up in the arms of Jesus. What a blessing! Inez was affectionately known as Schooner to close family. She also loved making plans and bringing people together.
Inez was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Lonnie Glenn Shivers. She is survived by her brother, Walter Scott Nickells and his wife, Wava, of Talmadge, Ohio, her four daughters Paulette Speights and husband Bob, Kallie Gilbreath and husband Glenn, Donna Brown and husband Rick, and Susan Setters and husband Audie. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren, in addition to numerous dear family members.

John 14:1-6
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
