Joe Thomas Sewell was born to parents Green Sewell and Ethel Thomas Sewell on July 1, 1935, in Conroe, Texas. He passed away on March 4, 2025, in Shepherd, Texas, at the age of 89.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Green and Ethel Sewell; brothers, I.O. “Bo” Sewell, James Sewell, Melvin “Mutt” Sewell, Sam Sewell; sisters, Ruth McKellar, Mary Lou Sewell, Helen Childers, Velma Irene Sewell.
He is survived by his beloved children, Chuck Sewell and wife Dawn, Dana Herblin and husband Jim; grandchildren, Brittany Wishnia, Nicole Clutter and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Brayden, Roman, Savannah, Abigail; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
A visitation for Joe Sewell will be held on Monday, March 10, from 5 – 8 p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring, Texas. The funeral service will be held the following day on Tuesday, March 11, at 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Coldspring, Texas, with Pastor Dalton Currie officiating.
