Libby Simonson has announced that she will seek re-election to the Liberty City Council. Simonson, who currently serves as Mayor Pro Tem, has represented the citizens of Liberty since May 2011.
With over a decade of experience on the council, she brings a track record of thoughtful leadership focused on improving infrastructure, maintaining stable tax rates, and ensuring responsible city governance.
“I have had the honor and privilege of representing the citizens of Liberty for nearly 14 years,” Simonson said. “My goal has always been to serve with integrity and make decisions that reflect the best interests of our community. We have made steady progress, and I am committed to continuing that work.”
Simonson emphasized the importance of infrastructure improvements, acknowledging the challenges that come with such complex projects.
“Strengthening Liberty’s infrastructure is a long-term process, but we’ve made steady progress on road repairs and other critical upgrades.”
She also highlighted her commitment to public safety as a core priority.
“Supporting our police, fire, and emergency services has always been important to me. Ensuring that our first responders have the resources they need to keep our community safe will continue to be one of my top priorities.”
Simonson stressed the importance of the responsible use of taxpayer dollars, noting that Liberty has maintained a steady tax rate for years.
“Keeping taxes flat while balancing the budget requires tough decisions, but I believe in making the most of our resources to serve the community effectively.”
Simonson expressed her desire to continue working on behalf of Liberty’s residents, ensuring she remains accessible, accountable, and committed to responsible governance.
“I am passionate about serving Liberty and making sure our city remains a great place to live and work. I would be honored to have your support as I seek re-election.”
Simonson invites all citizens to reach out with questions or concerns.
“I am always available to discuss city issues. Your input matters, and I look forward to hearing from you,”
