He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel Groves Brown and Opha Dean Owens Brown; brothers, Herschel Stennis Brown and wife, Alice; Paul Franklin Brown and wife, Beverly; and sister, Alice Carolyn Brown Tice, and husband, Bill; daughter, Carol Denise Brown; wife, Sylvia Ruth Herrod Brown; stepson, Terry Lunsford; son-in-law, Glenn Bevill, and wife, Demple Smith Brown
He is survived by his sons, James David Brown, and wife, Hilda; Daniel Lee Brown, and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Denna Kay Rhoden, and husband, Doug. Stepdaughters, Gail Bevill; Pam Bennett, and husband, Darrell; Joni Lunsford; Nancy Dexter, and husband, Ed, and special friend, Janet Dunaway. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren whom he loved deeply, as well as a host of family and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Shepherd located at 10850 Highway 150, Shepherd, Texas with visitation from 11am-12pm and his service beginning at 12:00pm with Bro. Chester Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Lovett Cemetery in Shepherd. Serving as pallbearers will be Duston Brown, Dylan Brown, Dusty Hoot, Trey Rhoden, Jonathan Rhoden, Nathan Rhoden, Jeremy Wood, and Jordan Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Ellis, Colton Kelso, Joseph Lummus, Ronnie McGarrahan, Garret Rhoden, Cole Russell, Cody Russell, Caleb Russell, Ryan Treuter, and P.K. Wesley.
