Johnnie Mae Bolton

It is with profound sadness but also deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the glorious transition of our beloved family matriarch, Mother Johnnie Mae Bolton, born on Dec. 6, 1938, and peacefully departed from this world on March 20, 2025. A long-time citizen of Silsbee, Texas, she was a woman of great faith, strength, and love, leaving behind a lasting legacy of devotion to her family, church and community.

Mother Bolton was an excellent cook, known for her culinary skills and dedication to serving others. For many years, she worked at numerous restaurants, including the Bluebonnet Cafe (Mr. Mooneyham), The Shine House, Jack & Sue’s Country Kitchen, and the Silsbee Country Club, where her delicious meals and warm spirit touched the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her only child, Diane Elaine Green Fontenot. She leaves to cherish her memories all of the other children unselfishly mothered:

Granddaughters: LaDonna Williams (Rockmond), Sandriea Green, Quensheal Topps (Octavis); Adopted children: Lashunda Spearman (Floyd), Shanell Jones, Willie Jones, Jr. (Ladedra), Brena Stallworth (Leroy); Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; Sister: Shirley Kemp; Brothers: Matthew Bolton, Floyd Kyles (Freddie), Leonard Kyles, Gregory Kemp (Barbara), Donald Miller

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, located at 2800 Hwy 327 W, Silsbee, TX 77656. Pastor Arthur C. Smith.

As we celebrate her glorious transition, we find comfort knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by the love of her Creator. Mother Bolton’s impact on our lives will forever be felt, and we are grateful for the memories she has left behind.
