Carlos Jonathan Cartagena

Carlos Jonathan Cartagena, born on May 5, 1990, in Canton La Hachadura, El Salvador, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedicated service to others. Carlos cherished his career as an emergency LVN at HCA Houston Healthcare, Northwest Houston, where he passionately devoted himself to saving lives. He was on the brink of achieving a lifelong dream, as he was about to receive his RN degree.

A faithful servant to the Lord, Carlos’s life was marked by his deep commitment to his faith and community. He was known for his vibrant personality, lighting up any room he entered. Friends and family alike remember him as the life of every party, celebrated for his joyful spirit and his love for dancing, which brought smiles and happiness to those around him. His talent for humor and jest made family gatherings particularly memorable, as he always knew how to make everyone feel special.

He had a profound affection for the outdoors and enjoyed partaking in paintball as a member of the Texas Cyclones. These passions not only highlighted his spirited nature but also showcased his zest for life.

Carlos is survived by his loving mother, Gilma D. Livingston, and father, Steven Livingston. He leaves behind a cherished brother, Alan Christopher Mendez, and his wife Itzel Mendez, alongside his beloved sister, Sabrina Natalie Livingston. Additionally, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and a host of friends who carry the warmth of his memory in their hearts.

Services to honor Carlos will be held at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. Visitation will take place on April 18, 2025, from 5 to 9 p.m., followed by a funeral service on April 19, 2025, at 11 a.m., concluding at 12 p.m.  Interment will immediately follow at Pace – Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, in Cleveland, Texas. The family invites all who knew Carlos to gather in remembrance of a life so richly lived.
