A tragic collision on Saturday evening, April 26, 2025, claimed the life of a motorcyclist and left his passenger critically injured in Cleveland.
At approximately 8:49 p.m., Cleveland Police Department dispatchers received a call reporting a serious accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle in the 1100 block of Nevell Street (FM 787).
When officers arrived at the scene, witnesses reported that a blue 2010 Toyota Camry, traveling westbound on Nevell Street, attempted to turn left onto the 600 block of Easy Street. As the Toyota began its turn, it was struck on the front right fender and passenger door by a red and black 2020 Honda motorcycle traveling eastbound.
According to witnesses, both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected and landed approximately 50 feet from the point of impact in a nearby ditch.
The Cleveland Fire Department and Allegiance EMS responded promptly to the scene. A 43-year-old female passenger from the motorcycle was airlifted by AirLife to HCA Conroe Hospital, where she remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
The 50-year-old male operator of the motorcycle was also treated at the scene. Despite immediate CPR efforts and transportation to HCA Cleveland Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The 28-year-old male driver of the Toyota Camry was transported to HCA Cleveland for treatment of minor injuries and was later released. He reportedly told officers he did not see the motorcycle approaching before he attempted his turn onto Easy Street.
The crash remains under active investigation by the Cleveland Police Department. The names of the decedent and his passenger will be released once their families have been notified.
