Members of the Dayton 4-H Club present 17 fully stocked trauma bags to Liberty County Sheriff Bobby Rader and members of the Sheriff’s Office. The project was led by 6th grader Kolton Neal and supported through a community bake sale held in Dayton.

The Dayton 4-H Club has made a significant contribution to local public safety by donating 17 fully stocked trauma bags to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. The project was led by 6th grader Kolton Neal, who served as project manager and originated the idea as a way to give back to the community and support first responders.

The funds for the trauma bags were raised through a community bake sale hosted by the club at Thriftee Grocery Store in Dayton on March 1, 2025. Thanks to the generosity of local residents and the hard work of 4-H members, the group raised enough money to purchase and assemble all 17 trauma bags.

Sheriff Bobby Rader expressed his appreciation for the donation, noting the importance of having additional emergency medical supplies readily available in high-stakes situations.

“This act of service highlights the positive impact young leaders can have through community-driven projects,” said Sheriff Rader.

The Dayton 4-H Club includes students from 3rd through 12th grade and is led by Jennifer Philley and Jennifer Boswell. The club actively engages in service projects, leadership development, and hands-on learning throughout the year.
