Connie Elaine Lennek

Connie Elaine Lennek, 66, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully after a brief but aggressive battle with lymphoma on April 26, 2025, in Dayton. Born on June 28, 1958, in Baytown, Texas, Connie was the beloved daughter of RC and Bobbie Jean Barnett.

Though she spent her childhood in Toms River, New Jersey, her heart found its home in Texas, where she moved after her senior year of high school. It was there that her high school sweetheart, Peter Lennek, followed her down to Texas—a devotion that led to 52 years together with 48 years of loving marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Connie and Pete made their home first in Baytown, where they spent 21 years, before settling in Dayton for the past 17 years. Connie was a member of the Methodist faith and always placed her family at the center of her life.

Connie found great purpose in her work, first supporting students with dyslexia at Goose Creek Consolidated ISD and later as a business office administrator at Edward Jones, in Dayton. While raising her children, she was deeply involved in their school and extracurricular activities, notably serving as one of the Presidents of the Goose Creek Consolidated ISD, Baytown Jr. High School and Robert E. Lee High School, where she offered her time and heart to countless students and families.

She had a passion for beauty and creativity—gardening, especially tending to flowers and watching butterflies brought her joy. Connie was a talented seamstress and crafter, with a special talent for making things with love. Above all, her greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren, Adalynn and Kaitlynn, who brought light to her days.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cathy and her brother Bruce. She is survived by her devoted husband, Peter Lennek; her children, Shane Lennek and Codie Lennek; her grandchildren, Adalynn Rose and Kaitlynn Elaine; her siblings, Ron, Paul and Claudia; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
