Larry Douglas Brister

Larry Douglas Brister, 77, passed away on June 7, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on May 21, 1948, in Montgomery, Texas to parents Jack and Mary Brister.

Larry was a true country boy and found his greatest joy in nature, whether it was casting a line at his favorite fishing spot or heading into the woods during hunting season. Above all else, he was a family man who cherished every moment he spent with his family. Larry was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a gentle, guiding presence to his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Brister; daughter, Tammy Brister; brothers, Jerry Brister, Johnny Brister, JoJo Brister; sister, Carolyn Weaver.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Brister; brother, Louis Brister; sister, Margie Falgout; children, Lumis Brister, Tracy Henson, Bill Henson, Cindy Talbert, Dana Murphy, Sherry Tymel, David Baxter; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

A visitation for Larry will be held on Wednesday, June 11, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., in the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas. The funeral service will immediately follow on Wednesday, June 11, at 12 p.m., with William Richter officiating. Those serving as pallbearers are Austin Talbert, Dustin Talbert, Bo Tarver, Ricky Tymel, Dale Sutton, Jacob Blunk. Honorary pallbearers are Claude Pope and Billie Coller.
