Dayton Animal Shelter at capacity; permanent and foster homes needed

The City of Dayton Animal Control is sounding the alarm as its shelter has reached full capacity, prompting an urgent plea for community support.

Every kennel and room is filled, and resources are stretched to the limit. In response, the shelter is waiving all adoption fees in hopes of placing as many animals as possible into homes immediately.

“We are at a critical point,” said the shelter in a Facebook post. “Every minute counts. Every share helps. Every adoption saves a life.”

Residents can help by adopting, fostering, or sharing the shelter’s message through social media: https://www.facebook.com/daytonanimalcontrol
