As we lovingly remember Deborah Lee Walker, affectionately known as Debbie, we remember her spirit for adventure and how she never missed an opportunity to spend time with family and friends. Her love for adventure was only surpassed by her love for her family. She never passed up an opportunity to go fishing with family and friends, take a fun beach trip, or spend time at the lake. Debbie passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, surrounded by her two devoted sons, Scott and Darin.
Debbie Walker was born on Aug. 30, 1953, in Liberty, Texas, to parents Don and Helen Walker. She was a lifelong resident of Liberty. She was the youngest of four and was deeply loved by her sister and two brothers. Through the years, the bond that was formed and the love that was shared among the four of them was evident in the memories they created. This was a testament to their wonderful parents. That legacy has been passed down and lives on in the lives of all of her nieces and nephews who also share a special bond and an abundance of love not only for their Aunt Debbie but also with her sons. No holiday, birthday, or family gathering was complete without Debbie present. She loved her family and they loved her in return.
Her greatest love and accomplishment were her two sons, Scott and Darin. For them, she was the foundation of their lives – a woman of quiet strength, endless warmth and unwavering love. Her guidance shaped who they are and will forever echo in their hearts. She lived her life for others and especially her grandchildren who will forever cherish their Gran and May-May. She cherished her family above all and they cherished her in return – not just as their mother, grandmother, sister and aunt but as their friend.
Debbie leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward with grace: her son, Scott Overton and wife, Kerry, son, Darin Walker and wife, Rhonda, grandchildren Hunter Overton and Lexi Overton, RJ Walker, Ryan Monk, Hailee Ragnes and husband, Bailey, Hannah Matthews, Jaice Jones and great grandchildren Braelynn and Kohen, sister Donna Fry Robbins, brother Jay Walker and wife Carol, sister in law JoAnn Walker and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Helen Walker and brother, Al Walker. We find comfort in knowing they all welcomed her with loving arms. While we mourn her absence, we also celebrate her life – a life filled with love, laughter and selfless devotion.
Serving as pallbearers are her sons, Scott Overton and Darin Walker, grandson, RJ Walker and nephews Dean Fry, Chad Fry and Jason Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Overton, Jaice Jones, Ryan Monk, Bailey Ragnes, Quinn Wood and Jerry Horton.
