H-GAC to host transportation planning meeting in Liberty

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) will hold a public meeting in Liberty on Thursday, July 10, as part of its community outreach for the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) 2050.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the A.J. “Jack” Hartel Building, located at 318 San Jacinto St. in Liberty.

RTP 2050 is a long-range plan that will shape transportation policy and guide how billions of dollars in investments are allocated across the eight-county Houston-Galveston region through the year 2050. The plan will influence which transportation projects are prioritized for funding and implementation over the coming decades.

Public engagement is a key part of the planning process. Community input will help ensure the plan reflects local values and supports regional goals around growth, safety, mobility, sustainability, and economic development.

The meeting will feature interactive exhibits, maps, and data displays that allow participants to explore current and future transportation scenarios. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with planning staff, provide feedback, and share concerns about transportation challenges in their communities.

Brandon Mosley, principal planner with H-GAC, will be available to discuss how public input will influence the final plan. Local officials, transportation partners, and community advocates will also be present to offer insight into specific transportation needs in Liberty County.
