Ella Redmon, 88, of Liberty, Texas, departed this life on July 3, 2025, at 7:56 a.m., to rest in the Master’s Arms.
Services are Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church 1600 Wallisville Rd., Liberty, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Acie Cemetery, Dayton, Texas.
On Aug. 8, 1936, Joseph and Ollie Perry were blessed with a beautiful baby girl of whom they named Ella Jean Perry, she was the thirteenth child of 16 children born to this union.
Ella Gene excepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor E. B. Bland of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas. She was a faithful member until her health failed.
Ella Jean met the love of her life Earl James Redmon to this union. They had one daughter. She had a knack for cooking, Ella Jean made everyone feel like they were the special ones. She never met a stranger, everyone that crossed her path loved her. She worked for Attorney Ed and Mrs. Patricia Norwood for over 35 years until she retired. She completed many full days of work and now she is sitting at the Savior’s feet.
Ella Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ollie Perry and 15 siblings.
Ella Jean leaves two cherish her memories, her daughter, Mrs. Asilee McCarthy (Ivan), goddaughters Miss Regina Johnson (William), Elaine Addison; godsons Jerome Williams (Peggy) all of Beaumont, Texas and Kevin Thomas of Dayton Texas; grandchildren: Dwayne (Miurels), Shirellen Brooks(Patrick), Phedra Watts, Kamaris Brooks and K’ahari Williams; great grandchildren: Aaliyah Carter, Acie Carter, Violet Carter, Daouda Nassa, DaKiri Nassa, Kaislee Hardaway, Khaya Hardaway and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Special friends; Ms. Linda Durousseau, Lawilder Hunter, Mary Alice Mackey, Linda Dever, Mildred Mitchell, Bertha Redmond, Atty Ed and Mrs. Patricia Norwood.
