James “Jimmy” Keith Hosford

James “Jimmy” Keith Hosford, age 65, of Huffman, Texas, passed away on July 12, 2025. He was born on November 19, 1959, in Auburn, New York, to Keith Frederick Hosford and Euna “Melveta” Walker.

Jimmy was a 1977 graduate of C.E. King High School. He spent the last four years living in Huffman and previously called the North Shore area home for 33 years. He was a proud and active member of Dayspring Church in Liberty.

A passionate Harley Davidson enthusiast, Jimmy loved riding his motorcycle and cheering on the Houston Astros, the Houston Texans, and playing Fantasy Football. He also enjoyed playing volleyball and was the vice president of the softball league. For 33 years, he selflessly coached baseball and softball at Sheldon Little League, where his dedication was honored by naming the softball field “Jimmy Hosford Softball Field” in his honor.

Jimmy worked in the tank car industry for over 20 years and spent another decade as a truck driver. In his earlier years, he was a bowling league member, a skilled pool tournament player, and a frequent competitor on BBQ cookoff teams. He also loved hunting, fishing from his kayak, and following his favorite soap opera, General Hospital.

Known affectionately as the “benefit king,” Jimmy was always the first to organize fundraisers for those in need. He was also the unofficial “neighborhood watch” guy, looking out for those around him. A self-proclaimed hot dog connoisseur, he never passed up a chance to stop at a convenience store in search of the perfect one.

Jimmy’s greatest devotion was to his beloved wife, Staci, to whom he was married for 319 months. Every 4th of the month, he left her anniversary notes and small loving gestures, a testament to their enduring bond.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Melveta Hosford. He is survived by his devoted wife, Staci Hosford; son, LaMarr James Hosford and wife Sharise; step-son, Steven Griffin and wife Lindsey; daughter, Christina Hunter and husband Ashton; step-daughter, Sydney Griffin; sister, Ailene Martin and husband Clint; grandchildren, Dalanie, Jaiden, Gracie, Dage, Avery, Jaxon, Brooke, Madison, and Milliana; as well as many other family members and countless friends.
