Cleveland man killed in head-on collision in Dayton

A fatal head-on collision occurred around 7:10 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2025, on U.S. 99 (Grand Parkway) near FM 1960 in the city of Dayton.

According to Lt. Eric Ibarra, a spokesperson for Dayton Police Department, the crash involved a southbound red 2000 Chevrolet pickup driven by Gerardo Sanchez Ramos, 54, of Cleveland, Texas, and a northbound black 2017 Dodge Durango driven by Laura Ivette Rosales, 36.

Ramos’s vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes of U.S. 99, resulting in a head-on collision.

Ramos was airlifted to Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center at 6411 Fannin St. in Houston, where he was pronounced dead. His next of kin has been notified.

  1. When are they going to put up a divider on the two lane section? Stupid people keep passing me and others even though I’m going the speed limit. I almost got in a head on several times now because stupid people passing. Put up some of those plastic poles between the lanes.
