An accident Sunday afternoon sent three people to area hospitals and resulted in the death of one person, authorities say.
According to Sgt. Rob Willoughby, supervisor for the Liberty County office of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Christopher Marler, 36, of Dayton, was killed around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, on FM 563, south of Liberty and just one mile north of CR 125.
The Harley-Davidson, driven by a 36-year-old Dayton man, was traveling northbound on FM 563 when it veered into the path of a southbound 2014 Ford F-250 pulling a trailer and driven by Jaime Antonio Geronimo Ramos, 43, of Dayton.
Ramos and two minor children, ages 11 and 6, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Willoughby said.
The collision happened in a no passing zone and on a curve, Willoughby said.
Marler died at the scene. Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Stephen Hebert performed an inquest and ordered an autopsy on the decedent.

I guess he got what he deserved. Passing in no passing zone on a blind curve. Being a person with a motorcycle and I’ve been riding over 50 years without a scratch I can say some people that ride give the rest of us who obey the laws a bad name. Stupid does as stupid is. I do feel sorry for his family. I have no sympathy for him.

Wow how cruel of you man. You have no idea if the motorcyclists was trying to pass another vehicle it doesn’t mention a 3rd vehicle anywhere and I can only assume that if he had been trying to pass someone and didn’t quite make it they would’ve mentioned it. And of that vehicle being passed would’ve most likely been involved in the accident as well. You say that you’ve been riding 50 yrs without a scratch tells me that your plenty old enough to know better than to be disrespectful like that. Obviously your maturity level didn’t age accordingly. I’m sure I’m not the only 1 whom thinks the same.
Your a heartless POS. And I hope when it’s your time to shine I hope it’s doesn’t come easy!

That was very cruel and disrespectful. This man may have fallen asleep or had health issues that caused him to veer into the other lane. You should never speak without knowing the full correct story…..and then if you were correct then keep it to yourself and have respect for his family. Prayers for all this affected.
Whoever posted that he deserved to die is the worst POS. Never had an accident in 50 years deserves to go down. There’s 2 kinds of bikers those who went down and those that will. Karma will get you sooner or later.
Wow Sj that was very cruel and disrespectful. You don’t know that this man may have fallen asleep or had health issues that caused him to veer into the other lane. The guy on the bike had just nearly rearended my 19 year old son and his girlfriend. The guy was driving like an idiot in and out of traffic putting everyone’s life in danger. Im glad all the victims made it out safe. Shame on that man my son had to see the aftermath.
I don’t care who it is no one deserves this and how stupid to say such a thing and make this kind of statement. I was at the location waiting and praying when told someone lost there lift . So for you to say he deserves it he didn’t and my son knew him. People that talk trash about someone losing their life could be next you never know we are all living on borrowed time. Please respect his mother and things that are being said on here should not be allowed. Prayers for his mother and family
Apparently the whole story is not divulged here, and the high rate of speed he was traveling at obviously had consequences, HOWEVER with that said NOBODY deserves to die for bad choices or decisions.
You say you have been riding for 50 years without a scratch. My question for you is….How many miles have you actually put on in the saddle? How long has your bike been parked in the garage? Any REAL rider gets a scratch every once in a while, it is to be expected when riding and a chance a REAL rider/biker TAKES. YES I ride, been riding for 30 years. Have hundreds of thousands of miles in my saddle and been all over this great country. AND CAN PROVE IT!! Just thought I would throw that in before you began running your mouth about me.
You should be ashamed of yourself for making such a comment. It is cruel and heartless. May GOD forgive you for your ignorance and still welcome you home when your time comes Sir. I will pray for you.
