Dwayne Stovall announces bid for Texas Congressional District 9

Dwayne Stovall

Dwayne Stovall, a business owner and long-time Liberty County resident, has officially entered the race to represent Texas’ newly formed Congressional District 9 (CD 9), which includes all of Liberty County and portions of southeast Harris County.

A sixth-generation Texan, Stovall has lived in Liberty County for nearly 30 years. The district holds special meaning for him, as he was born in Baytown and spent 14 years working at a refinery on the Houston Ship Channel.

Stovall has been an active voice in Republican politics for many years. He previously ran two statewide campaigns challenging U.S. Sen. John Cornyn—efforts he describes as being ahead of their time.

“We Texans are done with tolerating politicians who ignore us and then lie to us,” Stovall said. “I personally live within fifteen miles of a development where Mexican cartel members and illegal aliens who threaten our communities reside. This happened mainly because politicians ignored and lied to us. If President Donald Trump’s election proved anything, it proved that people are sick and tired of politics as usual. I want to give everyday, conservative Texans a real option, and I look forward to visiting with as many people as I can throughout the district before March.”

With more than 25 years of experience in highway and bridge construction as well as oilfield services, Stovall brings a business-focused perspective to the race. He and his wife of more than 30 years make their home in Liberty County.

Stovall’s campaign website, DwayneStovall.com, launched on September 1 with additional information about his platform and upcoming events.
