On Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, Christopher Franklin Durham, 37, of Cleveland, Texas, was arrested in Walker County on an outstanding warrant for continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, a first-degree felony.

After a thorough investigation by the Cleveland Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, in collaboration with members of the Bridgehaven Child Advocacy Center forensic interview team, a warrant was issued for Durham by Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Ralph Fuller.

The investigation began in early August 2025, and detectives were able to gather sufficient evidence to present to Judge Fuller and obtain the arrest warrant before the end of the month.

“We worked diligently to help bring some closure to the victim and her family,” said Cleveland Police Department Detective Sgt. Cooke.

Durham was detained at the Walker County Jail on Oct. 7, 2025, and was later extradited to the Cleveland Police Department Jail on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025. His bond was set at $200,000 by Judge Fuller.

“Such egregious actions and behavior will not be tolerated in the City of Cleveland,” said Cleveland Police Chief Broussard. “Our agency will work with prosecutors to seek justice to the fullest extent of the law.”

The Cleveland Police Department thanked all agencies that assisted with the case, including the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Huntsville Police Department, Walker County Sheriff’s Office and the Bridgehaven Child Advocacy Center.
